Online Spanish Magazine

This is a really cool site that has stories in spanish, plus you get to listen to spanish speakers as they read the stories and follow along with the transcript. A new magazine comes on every month, so the content is always changing. Veinte Mundos

Bi-lingual audio books

Here is a site that has bi-lingual audio books. Some of the books you can even look at the text in both English and Spanish and listen to the reading. Some are shorter stories like children's books, and others look like longer books. I just listened to the Princess and the Pea. Here is the link: Audio Books

Foreign Service Institute

I saw this posted on LIfeHacker.com. The U.S. Foreign Service Institute teaches foreign languages to government diplomats and personnel for duties abroad—and its courses are available online, for free. Which means you can access audio, texts, and tests in 41 different languages. When i tried this morning, the servers were down because of all the traffic. Hopefully when it comes back up it will something worthwhile to look at.

Spanish Popdcasts

I've been listening to some intermediate and more advanced spanish podcasts on my iPod, and one of them you can not only listen, but also view the transcripts, which is very helpful. In iTunes, it is just spanishPodcast, and the web site is here.

Some of the other podcasts I have listened to are Notes in Advanced Spanish, Spanish Grammar Review, SSL4YOU, and Voices en Espanol. I haven't checked if the other ones have transcripts. Once I get a chance, I will try to find their websites and check it out! Enjoy!

Proficiency Videos

I think this site can be gotten to from one of the links that I have posted before, but here is a direct link. This site provides many videos to help increase your proficiency. They also contains transcripts in english and spanish. I have only tried a couple, but hope to go through all of them soon.

You tube videos with lyrics

This is a cool site! It plays You tube videos along with the words, and as the words go by there are blanks where you have to type in the missing words. It moves pretty fast, even at beginner level, but it helps you to listen to the songs and pull out words - Lyrics Training

I have listened to some songs that I have heard on the radio, and now I can actually see all the words and hopefully learn the words more easily, which will hopefully help with retention. Cool site, why didn't I think of this?

Video and Words

Here is a spanish video Colgando en sus manos. I've also located the words here. Always nice to have some music and words. This song is pretty clear so the words are easy to follow. Enjoy!

Words to Spanish Songs

I downloaded tuneWiki onto my iPod touch, and it is great! I have some songs that are in Spanish in my playlist, and this app will show me the words to the songs in Spanish, and actually scroll the words as the song is playing! And if that is not enough, you can listen to radio stations from the internet and it will pull in the lyrics to those songs too (if they are available)! What a great way to learn Spanish!

Learning through Music

I have been listening to some Spanish songs on my iPod, and it has turned out to be a helpful way to improve my listening. Combining it with Christian songs make it a win-win! Here is a video link to "I Will Sing of His Love Forever". That is a great song and a fun one to sing in Spanish, especially since most people already know it in English.

I found a Christian artist that I like too (I am sure that I will find many more as I download more songs and albums) Her name is Rocio Crooke, and the album name is "Todo Habla de Ti". I have found it helpful to go to one of the many lyric sites (for example mp3lyrics) to look up the words and print them out, learn any words I do not know, and then sing along. Music makes remembering things much easier!

Links to still more spanish learning sites!

Some of these sites, I have already listed below, but here is yet another site to help learn spanish - Spanish lessons. I hope to try some of these sites out in the coming days, so hopefully there are some good ones

LingusTV is similar to LomasTV, except it looks like it uses sitcom style videos to teach, rather than the variety of videos that LomasTV provides. It looks like all the videos are also free which is a great plus!!

Rojas Spanish Language is also posting a video on every weekday in 2010, and claiming that by the end of the year, you could be fluent if you do the exercises, and of course you must practice! practice! practice!
