Live Mocha
Here is a cool site that I have been beginning to use - LiveMocha. You learn new vocabulary through pictures and sound, then get to write a little blurb that other members of the LiveMocha community get to critique. You can also submit a video recording of yourself reading a paragraph that can get critiqued also. It seems to be a fun little site and it measures your progress as well as you go through the various lessons. You can pay for additional features, but so far I am having fun with just the free options!

Review of spanish learning web sites
Here is a site that has reviewed what it views as the top 10 spanish learning web sites. It has some good ones on it, but I think one that it missed that should definitely be in the top 10 is spanishdict.com. You can read the reviews here.

Spanish Learning Sites
There are a lot of Spanish language learning sites, some offering just vocabulary, while others offering videos and podcasts. After extensive searching, here are some of the sites that I recommend:
Free!
Free!
- SpanishDict - one of my favorite. Free site with video podcasts, exercises, forums and chat
- Study Spanish
- Spanish Uno - vocabulary
- Notes in Spanish
- Spanish-Podcast.com - blog
- About Spanish - lots of useful notes on grammar and pretty much anything else you would want to know
- Practice Spanish Online - links to other useful sites
- E-learn Spanish Language
- Spanish Proficiency Exercises - some videos of various people covering many different topics
- Online Spanish Resources - list of helpful resources
- Orange County Library - if you have an Orange County library card, you can go to Tumblebooks to listen, and in some cases follow along, with spanish children's books. This is a great site!
Some Free, but mostly subscription based:
- Spanishpod101 - Very good podcast site offering newbie, beginner and intermediate podcasts
- Spanishpod - Very good podcast site also offering newbie, beginner, intermediate and advanced podcasts
- Lomas TV - site where you can interact with actual videos of native spanish-speaking people - see later post for a little more in-depth review
- Spanish Language Site - haven't tried this one
- Codys Cuentos - children's stories
